Class starts at 8AM at Right Brain Armory.
The course you have signed up for is an 8-hour NRA official course which covers the following topics:
LESSON I: PISTOL KNOWLEDGE AND SAFE GUN HANDLING
LESSON II: AMMUNITION KNOWLEDGE AND THE FUNDAMENTALS OF PISTOL SHOOTING
LESSON III: SHOOTING POSITIONS AND SHOOTING QUALIFICATION
LESSON IV: SCORING TARGETS, AND SELECTING AND MAINTAINING YOUR PISTOL
LESSON V: CONTINUED OPPORTUNITIES FOR SKILL DEVELOPMENT
After covering these 5 sections, there will be a short test. After the test we will head to Silver Bullet Shooting Range at 5901 W 38th Ave, Wheat Ridge, CO 80212 (Google Maps link: https://goo.gl/maps/Rsq6NtGysPhMbqHW6) to complete the shooting qualification portion of the course. There are 4 possible qualification levels. The qualification starts at 10ft. and out to 45ft., but don’t worry, the course only requires 20 shots in 9” circles at 10ft.
If you don’t have a firearm for use in the shooting portion of this course, please let us know. We have some firearms we can loan out if we know ahead of time that you’ll be needing one.
After the shooting portion is completed, students may elect to come back to the classroom and clean their pistols under our instruction. If you’d like to take this opportunity to learn more about maintaining your firearm, please bring a cleaning kit if you have one. If you don’t, we have some for sale.
Please bring the following to the class:
- A pistol that you’re familiar with
- At least 50 rounds of ammunition (there will be an opportunity to purchase ammunition from us or the shooting range if you prefer)
- Lunch (we will be taking a lunch break during the course, and there are restaurants nearby if you’d rather not bring a lunch)
- A current Driver’s license/ID card for use at the shooting range
- Cleaning kit (optional)
- A positive attitude (mandatory)
No live ammo is allowed in the classroom but we will store your ammo in our safe during the class so that you don’t have to leave ammo in your vehicles.
